Local MP Seamus Logan accepted an invitation to join a community litter pick at Peterhead for National Recycling Week 2025 which runs from 22nd to 28th September this year as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘Love Where You Live’ Campaign.

The litter pick was organised by Allan Paterson, Franchisee Holder at McDonald’s in Peterhead and Fraserburgh, as part of the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility and cleaner, greener neighbourhoods.

The Aberdeenshire North and Moray East MP joined Mr Paterson alongside a group of local volunteers for an afternoon of litter picking, collecting 22 bags in total.

Commenting, Seamus Logan MP said:

“On a bright, sunny day in the Blue Toon, I was pleased to join a large group of helpers from the local community brought together by Allan Paterson from McDonalds to take part in this litter pick.  In a short space of time, we collected quite a satisfying haul of black bin bags, thanks to the hard work of the volunteers and the community spirited initiative of Allan and his company.

“If you ‘Love Where You Live’, I’d recommend taking part in a local litter pick, with many taking place all year round outwith this National Recycling Week.”
