Sea-Cargo has successfully completed a major offshore logistics and supply base support campaign for Petrofac’s North Sea drilling operations, involving the COSL innovator rig operated on behalf of Serica Energy and Dana Petroleum. This achievement marks the conclusion of Sea-Cargo’s longest- running continuous supply base engagement, supporting Petrofac-led operations since 2022.

Operating from its base at the Port of Aberdeen, Sea-Cargo provided a fully integrated logistics solution tailored to the high-tempo demands of offshore drilling. The project involved rapid vessel turnaround coordination and sustained operational ef ciency across all phases of the drilling programme.

From an operational perspective, the scope of work encompassed the loading and discharge of deck cargo, collection and return of vendor equipment, coordination of vessel berthing for bulk loading, supply of marine gas oil (MGO) to both vessels and the rig, and full customs support. These elements were executed seamlessly, with all customer KPIs met throughout the duration of the campaign.

Sea-Cargo leveraged its extensive experience from international logistics campaigns and its deep operational knowledge of the Port of Aberdeen to ensure consistently high standards of service. The company’s background in general cargo handling further contributed to the exibility and reliability required for an offshore campaign of this scale and complexity.

This project also signals a strategic new direction for Sea-Cargo as it expands its logistics service within the offshore energy sector. The successful execution of this programme demonstrates Sea-Cargo’s readiness to support complex, large-scale operations across the UK Continental Shelf and beyond.

Andrew Dolman, General Manager of Sea-Cargo Aberdeen, said: “It is a proud moment for the company to have played a key role in this successful operation and we look forward to further supporting Petrofac and other companies in the offshore energy industry.”
