The Spanish fashion retailer Mango is set to open a new store in Aberdeen’s Union Square shopping centre, taking over the unit currently occupied by FatFace.

Fit-out work is expected to begin shortly, with the outlet likely to open later this year. The arrival of Mango marks another step in Union Square’s strategy to broaden its high street and international brand offering, aiming to draw more shoppers to the city centre.

Mango, well known for its contemporary clothing, footwear, and accessories for women, men, and children, has been steadily expanding its presence across the UK. This new Aberdeen location will be the retailer’s first store in the North-east of Scotland.

FatFace, the British lifestyle clothing brand, will be vacating the prominent corner space as part of a reshuffle within the centre.

The change reflects ongoing adjustments within Union Square’s tenant mix, as retailers adapt to evolving consumer trends and the continuing shift towards experiential shopping.

A spokesperson for Union Square welcomed Mango’s addition, describing it as a “fantastic fit” for their fashion offering and a “significant brand for attracting visitors from across the region.”
