Aberdeen-based risk consultancy Marex has expanded its technical team with the appointment of two new safety consultants as it continues its business growth strategy.
Beth McIntosh joins the company as a technical safety and human factors consultant, while Kieran Whyte has been appointed technical safety consultant. The additions strengthen Marex’s capability in technical safety, human factors engineering and risk management for clients operating in energy and hazardous industries.
McIntosh joins Marex following eight years as a QHSE advisor at Archer. She is working towards chartered status with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors, supported through a 12-month mentorship with Marex consultant Tim Southam.
Her appointment is intended to build on the consultancy’s expertise in applying human factors principles to workplace safety and operational performance, with a focus on designing systems around how people work in real-world environments.
Whyte joins from Fulcrum Industrial Services, where he worked as a functional safety engineer. He brings experience in functional safety design and risk management across complex industrial assets.
The appointments follow the recent arrival of lifting technical authority Les Smith and summer intern Lennon Brown, who joined the Marex AI team earlier this year.

Marex said the expansion reflects increasing demand across energy and hazardous industries for integrated safety engineering and human factors consultancy, helping organisations to improve safety performance by ensuring operational systems account for real workplace behaviour.
