Marine energy service firm hires new chief executive

Carl Trowell, new Acteon group chief executive officer from June 1

MARINE energy service firm Acteon Group has hired Carl Trowell as its group chief executive, replacing Richard Higham.

Mr Higham joins Acteon from drilling rig company Valaris, where he held the role of executive chairman. He was chief executive of Ensco before it merged with Rowan Companies to become Valaris.

Prior to joining Ensco, he worked for Schlumberger, holding a variety of leadership positions for 17 years, including managing director for the North Sea region.

Mr Trowell will join Acteon on June 1, with Mr Higham stepping down after 30 years with the company. He will remain on the board as a non-executive director and senior advisor.
