The funds raised were equally distributed between two highly deserving charities:

  • The Archie Foundation – £3027.50 donated to support children in our local areas to have equal access to world-class healthcare and bereavement support, delivered in a child-appropriate environment and manner.
  • The RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) –£3027.50 donated to support their work saving lives at sea with their 24 hour lifeboat search and rescue service.

The donation reflect Sentinel Marine’s commitment to supporting local charitable causes that make a significant impact on the community and beyond.

The Sentinel runners were: Jonathan Mitchell, managing director; Stuart Ironside, technical manager; Natalie Fitzpatrick, crewing manager; Steven Jones, QHSE officer; Craig Barclay, technical superintendent; Alex Smaranda, technical superintendent; Elise Simpson, operations assistant and Mac Greenwood, operations trainee.

The Saltire 24 Ultra Trail Race is a renowned endurance event set in the picturesque landscapes of Deeside. Groups participants challenge themselves to run as far as possible in relay within 24 hours, navigating through diverse terrains that test their physical and mental stamina.

Jonathan Mitchell, managing director of Sentinel Marine, expressed his pride in the team’s achievement, stating:

“Our participation in the Saltire 24 Ultra Trail Race was not just a test of endurance but a testament to our collective spirit and dedication to making a difference. We are thrilled to have supported The Archie Foundation and the RNLI, two organisations that do remarkable work locally.”
