Dry dock specialists Dales Marine Services has won the Port Health and Safety accolade at the Port of Aberdeen’s 2025 Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Awards.
The honour signifies Dales Marine’s ongoing commitment to health and safety practices at its Aberdeen Dry Dock and acknowledges the dedication of the company’s team across its operations.
Now in its third year, the Port of Aberdeen’s annual HSE Awards recognise the companies that contribute to making Aberdeen a safer, healthier and more sustainable port.
The 2025 award was presented to Mark Massie, Dales Marine’s QHSE Manager at Pittodrie Stadium earlier this month.
On receiving the award on behalf of Dales Marine, Mark said: “This recognition from the Port of Aberdeen is a testament to the high safety standards we strive for at our Aberdeen Dry Dock and all our other sites. It also recognises the hard work and commitment to safety shown by our employees, contractors and customers, including the vessels crews who have worked at our facility.”
Following the implementation of new safety initiatives and practices, staff at Dales Marine’s Aberdeen site have achieved a reduction in medical treatment cases and halved the total number of lost time incidents in the past 12 months, compared to previous years.

In addition to its Dry Dock in Aberdeen, Dales Marine operates three further strategically placed docks, located in Leith, Greenock and Troon. Each facility offers specialised ship repair and maintenance services to the offshore and energy industries.
