MTL will provide specialist independent review and certification approval of high-value or high-risk projects, covering transportation, construction, commissioning and decommissioning for FPSO and subsea infrastructure developments.

The company hopes that it’s strong track record of delivering on-time, while staying flexible to project demands, as well as its relentless focus on safety and innovation will offer a fresh approach for the MWS industry.

“At MTL our team of specialists have significant experience in delivering unique and innovative projects to our global client base, driving certainty, delivering reassurance, minimising risk and providing best practice – and the introduction of MWS to our organisation will complement our current offering.”

Ian, who has a master’s degree in Naval Architecture from the University of Glasgow and Strathclyde, is a Chartered Engineer and is a member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects. He has been in the industry for more than 14 years and has a proven track record in delivering high-quality solutions and services to the marine, offshore and renewables industries.

Projects Director at MTL Calum MacLean said: “We are delighted to welcome Ian to our team. His vast experience in the marine and MWS industries will bring a new dimension to the organisation. We look forward to working with Ian, who has already drawn in significant interest for our MWS service.”

Ian Stewart said: “Having worked in the marine, offshore and renewables industries for a while now, I was more than aware of MTL and the great work it carries out. It’s a privilege to be appointed the role of Lead Naval Architect and I look forward to growing the MWS side of the organisation, in addition to the FPSO inspection, repair and equipment scopes.”
