Kintore-based FPSO and marine vessel specialists, Marine Technical Limits (MTL), has expanded its service offering with the appointment of a new Lead Naval Architect.
The organisation, which provides specialist equipment, inspection and repair services, has welcomed Ian Stewart to the role of Lead Naval Architect. With Ian’s appointment the company, which employs 41 people, will also expand its service offering to include Marine Warranty Surveying (MWS).

MTL will provide specialist independent review and certification approval of high-value or high-risk projects, covering transportation, construction, commissioning and decommissioning for FPSO and subsea infrastructure developments.
The company hopes that it’s strong track record of delivering on-time, while staying flexible to project demands, as well as its relentless focus on safety and innovation will offer a fresh approach for the MWS industry.
Technical Director at MTL Matt Lewin said: “The appointment of Ian to the role of Lead Naval Architect will see us introduce MWS to our specialist suite of services, while enhancing our existing core service offering.

Ian, who has a master’s degree in Naval Architecture from the University of Glasgow and Strathclyde, is a Chartered Engineer and is a member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects. He has been in the industry for more than 14 years and has a proven track record in delivering high-quality solutions and services to the marine, offshore and renewables industries.
