Intellectual property specialist Marks & Clerk has been named Scottish Prosecution Firm of the Year at a prestigious industry awards night.
The firm – which has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen – walked away with the accolade at the Managing Intellectual Property Global Awards on Thursday night (March 9).

The award is given to firms which have made outstanding contributions to IP work over the past 12 months.
Richard Gibbs, (Glasgow Office Managing Partner), Andrew Docherty (Aberdeen Office Managing Partner), Campbell Newell (Head of the Scottish Trade Mark Practice) and Maureen Kinsler (International Chairman), of Marks & Clerk were presented with the trophy at the showcase event, which took place at The Savoy Hotel in London.
Earlier this month, the firm also was also recognised as one of Scotland’s top performers for patent work when it was listed for the ninth consecutive year in IP Stars’ top tier for Scottish patent prosecution work. Marks & Clerk has also been recognised this year for its trade mark work, with placements in the top tier of the IP Stars guide for Scottish trade mark prosecution, and the Gold tier of the World Trademark Review 1000 guide for trade mark agency work.

Marks & Clerk also picked up the Singapore Prosecution Firm of the Year award and was nominated in the Asia-Pacific Firm of the Year and UK Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year categories.
