Maritime Developments Ltd (MDL) has appointed Gary Wilson as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), as the company continues to grow its overseas presence and deliver integrated back-deck solutions to the global energy industry.

Gary brings over 30 years of international experience in the energy sector, during which he has guided organisations through expansion and integration across Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.

His career spans senior leadership positions focused on business growth, strategic development and operational leadership, including various roles at Ferguson Group, ranging from Project Manager to Vice President EMEA, and more recently Strategic Director at Texo Group and Chief Commercial Officer at ACE Winches, where he led the business through a period of international growth, establishing new operations overseas.

At MDL, Gary will focus on driving commercial performance, developing strategic partnerships and enhancing the company’s international footprint. His knowledge of winch systems and deck equipment will support MDL’s continued focus on delivering integrated, customer-led back-deck solutions.

“I’m a strong believer in building high-performing teams through collaboration and clear communication,” Gary said. “I like to stay hands-on and connected across all levels of the business to make sure strategy is effectively translated into delivery. At MDL, my focus will be on driving business growth, enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the company’s continued international expansion.”

Derek Smith, MDL CEO, commented:

“Gary’s depth of experience in leading high-performing, international businesses makes him a great addition to the team. His commercial insight and leadership will be key as we continue to strengthen MDL’s position in the global market.”
