AN Aberdeenshire business has produced millions of litres of sanitiser and supported more than 50 jobs in the area since its launch three months ago.

Just Sanitise, based on a 10-acre site in Craigellachie, was developed by Aberdeen business partners, Nicola Hartland and Brent Bowie, with a self-funded investment of £2 million.

The first quarter has resulted in the business securing a large supermarket deal and delivering supplies to seven European countries, including Spain, France and Germany, with a fleet of 75 vehicles transporting the product across the UK and Europe.

The brand, which is already World Health Organisation Approved, has recently achieved a new industry accreditation following laboratory tests which confirmed the product is highly effective and quick-acting against viruses, including human coronavirus.

Nicola said: “We have seen a great response to the product in the first three months of business and have been overwhelmed by the support we have received, particularly from customers in the North-east as businesses in the region are clearly focussed on supporting each other and investing in locally produced products.

“The recent cluster in Aberdeen has been a massive blow for the economy, particularly for the hospitality sector, but it has also been a wake-up call that the health, safety and protection of staff and customers must be a priority as we continue to fight this ongoing battle with a deadly virus and it’s crucial that businesses invest in the most effective PPE.”

In addition to producing the quick-drying hand sanitiser, Just Sanitise has now produced a surface spray and launched an online shop.

Supporting NHS Charities Together, Just Sanitise has committed to a £100k donation in its first year, as well as donating its sanitiser to community organisations across the UK.
