Motive Offshore supplies HPU unit for US theme park attraction

A North-east offshore services firm has completed an unusual project to fabricate equipment for a major hydraulics company which in turn supplied a US theme park attraction.

Motive Offshore Group, which is headquartered in Boyndie near Banff, built a Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) unit for Micron Eagle Hydraulics, which was utilised to provide a temporary fluid power supply for the theme park attraction.

Motive’s specialist team carried out work to build an HPU to complement the client’s own unit, together delivering almost one megawatt of hydraulic power.

Working together the two companies fulfilled an impressive turnaround of just four weeks from PO placement to delivery.

James Gregg, director at Motive Offshore Group said: “Motive has successfully weathered a difficult two and a half years in the industry, not just by sheer hard work and determination, but also by keeping operations streamlined while continuing to diversify. Our recent work alongside Micron Eagle to build the specialist unit for a funfair ride, fully demonstrates this.

“Motive keeps three things at the heart of everything we do – People, Product and Performance. This helps ensure the delivery of superior products, at competitive prices and with an emphasis on quality and attention to detail – each and every time.

“It’s an exciting time at Motive as we continue to expand our group and develop new products to meet the demands of today’s marketplace. We’re looking forward to seeing existing relationships develop and to forging new partnerships worldwide, all of which contributes to our commitment to provide clients with high quality, cost-effective equipment”
