Aberdeenshire North and Moray East MP Seamus Logan has received an assurance that work to erect hoardings around a derelict site in Fraserburgh will begin next week.

The SNP MP had received approaches from local residents concerned at the unsightly nature of the derelict site in the town’s Cross Street, the site of a former garage.

Now, following an approach from the MP, the Chief Executive of Grampian Housing Association has advised that work to erect hoardings around the site will commence next week.

Commenting, Seamus Logan MP said:

“This is a very prominent site on the main approach to the Town Centre and it gives a very poor impression of the town.  I’m therefore pleased that Grampian Housing Association have readily agreed to erect hoardings in an effort to reduce the visual impact of this piece of land, something which local councillors and I have wanted for some time.

“Of course, ideally, the site should be developed and I trust that work in this regard can be forthcoming shortly.”
