Parker Technical Services has launched a new Aberdeen office and embarked on an ambitious recruitment drive, following significant new contract wins, totalling £3.7 million worth of work for the firm.
Parker Technical Services provides services related to engineering, facility maintenance, energy and environment. The business was created last year, when Edwin James Group harnessed the synergies of its constituent businesses to create two distinct service offerings: technical services and process services.

Parker Technical Services brought together Korrie in the North of Scotland, Glasgow-based business Ingen Technical Services and Burton-headquartered WT Parker.
The launch of the new Aberdeen office follows two major project wins from Morrison Construction which has seen Parker contracted to provide mechanical and electrical services for a laboratory and office facility in Montrose and for a new sports centre in Elgin. To support the projects, a team of 12 engineers have been recruited and a dedicated office in the North East has been established, headed by newly appointed Director, Kevin Shinnie.
The Aberdeen base, located in Arnhall Business Park, Westhill, extends Parker Technical Services geographic reach across Scotland and complements existing, strategically placed offices in Glasgow, Thurso and Inverness.
Executive Director, Robert Molloy, commented: “We already had a strong, existing customer base in the North of Scotland which has been built up over a number of years through Korrie’s solid reputation, so opening a physical base in Aberdeen felt like a natural move. The contracts in Elgin and Montrose, coupled with a healthy pipeline of other work mark an exciting time for Kevin and his team who are already working hard to build the Parker brand and convert business in the region which will enable further expansion.”
Edwin James Group Chief Executive Officer, Derek Smith, is also positive. Smith joined the group 15 months ago, having come from from the Aberdeen oil and gas industry pipe specialist Ramco, where he was group CEO.

Edwin James Group has a presence throughout the UK, with offices in Inverness, Thurso, Elgin, Glasgow, Burton-on-Trent, Preston, Louth, Mildenhall, Swadlincote and Peterborough. It employs approximately 1000 people across the UK.
