The Azerbaijani Society at the University of Aberdeen, with support from the BA Cultural Centre, hosted a landmark event titled “Navigating the Future: Energy Transition Goals, Technology Innovations, and Challenges in Azerbaijan.” The founder and chairman of the “BA Cultural Center” Billura Bernard mentioned that The event brought together leading academics, industry professionals, and students to discuss the pressing issues and opportunities surrounding Azerbaijan’s energy transition.
The session commenced with opening remarks from Ibrahim Khasiyev, President of the Azerbaijani Society, who set the stage for a dynamic exchange on the future of energy in Azerbaijan and beyond.
Distinguished speakers included Dr. Alfonso Martinez-Felipe and Professor Alexander Kemp from the University of Aberdeen, Fariza Aliyeva from the energy sector company, and Fariz Ismayilzada from ADA University. Their presentations covered a range of critical topics, such as decarbonization strategies, the role of hydrogen in the energy mix, and lessons from Aberdeen’s own transition journey. The panel also examined the long-term effects of renewable energy targets and the technological innovations shaping the sector’s future.
Attendees participated in an engaging Q&A session and enjoyed networking opportunities during a coffee and tea break, fostering dialogue between students, academics, and industry experts.
