Developed by Judith E. Glaser, CEO of Benchmark Communications inc, chairman of the Creating WE Institute, author of six books and a consultant to fortune 500 companies, Conversational Intelligence® (C-IQ) focuses on skills, tools and models which help improve the quality of our conversations. Glaser insists that “in order to get to the next level of greatness depends on the quality of the culture, which depends on the quality of the relationships, which depends on the quality of the conversations.”

Since training with Judith and receiving the certification at the end of 2016, Martha has been building the tools and learnings into her leadership development programmes. She is now working to bring the benefits of the C-IQ framework to businesses across Scotland.

“As leaders, we cannot underestimate the outcomes of our conversations and the impact these have on those around us and on our business success. Conversational intelligence focuses on the ability to have good conversations, created at a higher-level of intelligence which activate trust, integrity, empathy and good judgement. With all the challenges we face today I believe this is more important than ever.”

It is critical for managers and business leaders to be aware and mindful of their interactions and the effect these have on employees and their behaviour. Every relationship whether business or personal, is fostered using the foundational building block of a conversation. A research project at Stanford University suggests that as many as 9 out of 10 conversations miss the mark.”

Martha and her team have already delivered their first C-IQ training for a team in Scotland and are now looking to engage with businesses in Aberdeen to help improve the quality of conversations that will help drive improved business performance. The training will focus on bringing together two important bodies of work; what is known about interaction with others and what is being discovered about neurochemistry.

Businesses will be able to gain an insight into Conversational Intelligence® at a series of introduction days which are being run in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow throughout March and April. For further information and booking visit www.harveymcmillan.com or email [email protected]
