Cruden Bay-based Andrew has a very strong background in financial services, having worked in the sector for the past 16 years. Most recently he was employed as an independent financial adviser with EIS Financial Services, where he specialised in providing advice to teachers and their families.

In his new role Andrew will be advising clients on retirement planning, savings and investments, and protection. He said, “I really enjoy retirement planning as this is where independent advice is really important – it allows us to tailor plans to fit clients’ needs, rather than a generic, off-the-shelf option. I’m looking forward to supporting a wider range of clients with Phil Anderson Financial Services, and building strong and meaningful relationships with those clients.”

Emma Reid has recently completed an LLB Scots Law with English Law degree at the University of Aberdeen. Alongside her studies Emma worked in various roles within the NHS, which saw her most recently managing a clinical administration team which facilitated the roll-out of the vaccine project.

Aberdeen-born Emma will continue studying in her new role. Initially she will be supporting the team to meet the needs of clients, whilst also studying for a diploma through the London Institute of Banking & Finance to become a fully qualified financial adviser.

Emma said,I am absolutely delighted to be joining Phil Anderson Financial Services, and working with such a committed and successful team as we continue to grow from strength to strength. I look forward to gaining more experience in this dynamic industry, and applying the knowledge I will gain through the professional qualification to better serve our clients.”

Company founder and MD, Phil Anderson, added, “I’m certain that Andrew and Emma will be great assets to our growing team – both bring with them a wealth of different skillsets, knowledge and expertise. Andrew is a very highly regarded figure within the industry, having built up a sound reputation for delivering independent financial advice over the past 16 years. Emma’s background in law, combined with her strong work ethic will undoubtedly serve her well as she progresses in her career as part of our team.

“Despite the challenges of lockdown, our client base has continued to grow across the North-east and beyond, prompting this continued expansion of our team. As well as ensuring we have the capacity to support our growing number of clients, we’re also committed to supporting our staff to acquire the professional knowledge and qualifications they need to offer the best possible financial advice, and to further their own career development.”

The firm, which has its head office in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, experienced their busiest month ever for new applications in March. In addition to the increase in their mortgage business, Phil Anderson Financial Services has continued to support an ever-widening customer base with their financial affairs across a range of service areas including investments, pensions, savings, mortgages and insurance, despite the restrictions and challenges of the past year.

The independent financial advisors currently have offices across the North-east, with a new office in the pipeline for Caithness, as well as a prospective move to larger premises for their headquarters in Ellon.
