New BNI networking group to be launched in St Andrews

BNI Scotland North is to launched a new networking group in St Andrews later this month. 

BNI Royals will hold its initial meeting at the Macdonald Rusacks Hotel in St Andrews on Tuesday, October 24 (6.30am-9.30am).
The launch event is for business owners, management and staff to attend. The aim is to hold a regular weekly meeting of the group – the 17th of its kind set up by networking business BNI Scotland North.

Angela Kinghorn, executive director at BNI Scotland North, said: “We’ve had St Andrews in mind for a group for some time and are delighted to be finally pushing ahead with the launch.

“We believe there is tremendous scope for companies in the area to support each other, increase awareness and generate new business through a weekly BNI meeting. The name of the group BNI Royals acknowledges the town’s connections to William and Kate and we hope it will be a huge success.”

Latest figures reveal BNI Scotland North generated £19m of business for members in 2016, a 65% increase on the £11.5m total recorded in 2015. There are seven BNI groups in Aberdeen, two in Dundee and further meetings in Montrose, Perth, Dunfermline, Inverurie, Peterhead, Elgin and Inverness. 

BNI members pay a joining fee and a monthly fee to be part of a group. BNI Scotland North has over 400 members in total, and it recently awarded its fifth millionaire pin badge to a member who has generated over £1m for fellow member businesses.

As evidence of the success of members’ networking skills, BNI Scotland North recently scooped six awards at the BNI Directors’ Conference held in Newcastle.

Aberdeen-based group BNI Energy won Outstanding Performance in Chapter Traffic Lights, a reporting system used to monitor lead generation and business gained.

BNI is the largest business networking referral organisation in the world, with 907 regions across 69 countries. Scotland North members have access to more than 13,000 members in the UK and Ireland and more than 220,000 others worldwide.

BNI (Business Network International) was founded by Dr Ivan Misner in the United States in 1985. In 2016, BNI passed over 676,000 referrals worth over £452 million in the UK and Ireland alone.
