BNI Scotland North has announced it is to open a Highlands group based in Inverness, adding to existing business development groups in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Tayside, Fife and Angus.

The group is keen to welcome companies and entrepreneurs from across the Inverness area

The Highlands group will meet every Thursday at the Kingsmills Hotel, Culcabock Road in Inverness. The first meeting will be held on March 26, between 7am and 9am.

BNI (Business Network International) is the largest networking and referral organisation in the world. The North of Scotland region currently has 10 membership groups, featuring 200 members, from Aberdeen to Dunfermline.

Rob Hamilton, chief executive of Aberdeen-based technology provider Dynamic Edge acquired the BNI Scotland North franchise in late 2014 along with business partner Trevor Mutch, owner and managing director of Banchory-based R Davidson (Ltd).

Rob, executive director BNI Scotland North, said: “Bringing a business networking group to the Highlands has been a long-held ambition of ours. We’re eager to speak to like-minded businesses and entrepreneurs who are seeking to enhance their existing business developing strategy.

“Inverness and the surrounding area has performed strongly over recent years but there is plenty of scope remaining for proactive businesses in the region to embrace new opportunities for growth and collaboration.”

Trevor, executive director BNI Scotland North, said: “We’re extremely excited about this next stage in the development of the North of Scotland franchise. The new group will help business people build and develop relationships with other members of the community to drive growth and achieve mutual goals.

“Through the tried and tested formula of business networking and referrals, BNI members benefit from increased business opportunities, more referrals and developing their network of contacts.

“On average, each seat within the North of Scotland region is worth around £50,000 to each member over the course of a year.”

North of Scotland members also have access to more than 13,000 BNI members in the UK and others in 60 countries around the world. BNI was founded by Dr. Ivan Misner in the United States in 1985 and has more than 170,000 members worldwide.
