Grant Gregor has officially passed out as Coxswain for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), marking another significant achievement in his dedicated voluntary and now full time career with the charity.
Grant’s journey with RNLI has been marked by a series of impressive milestones. In 2021, he became Aberdeen’s youngest all-weather lifeboat (ALB) mechanic to pass out, and in 2022, he qualified as helm of the inshore lifeboat (ILB). Now, as he steps into the role of Coxswain, he continues his commitment to saving lives at sea.
His dedication to the RNLI extends beyond voluntary service. In September 2024, Grant took on a full-time position as a Regional Resilience Mechanic – now transitioning into the combined role of Coxswain/Mechanic. In this capacity, he provides vital support across lifeboat stations throughout Scotland, ensuring RNLI assets remain operational 24/7.

His hands-on experience and unwavering dedication have been instrumental in supporting Aberdeen’s lifesaving efforts.
Speaking about his latest achievement, Grant said: “Becoming Coxswain is a huge honour, and I’m grateful for the support of my crew and the wider RNLI team. The RNLI has been a huge part of my life, and I look forward to continuing to save lives at sea.”
The RNLI relies on the dedication of its volunteers to ensure that lifeboat stations across the country remain fully operational.
