New decarbonisation ‘supergroup’ worth £500million formed in Aberdeen

A NEW “game changing” decarbonsiation powerhouse has been launched in Aberdeen, formed of three North-east companies and two from London.

D2Zero will combine the existing portfolios of Hydrasun, Global E&C (both based in Aberdeen), Score Group (Peterhead), Fuel Cell Systems, and Powerstar (both London-based).

The five firms employ a combined 4,000 staff with combined revenue in excess of £500million.

The company has a strategic focus on four key areas of the energy transition: emissions reduction; clean hydrogen; power efficiency; and resilience management, and carbon capture and storage.

All businesses will be controlled by global private equity firm SCF Partners.

The firm will be led by Bob Drummond, who has been in charge at Hydrasun for two decades.

D2Zero’s new CEO said: “D2Zero stands at the forefront of the energy transition.
