New director for energy services firm

ENERGY services firm Global E&C, has appointed Paul Rushton to the role of technical services director.

Paul brings more than 20 years experience in new energy technologies and was previously chairman of commissioning and start-up firm, Magma Products.

Since Global E&C’s acquisition of Magma in early 2019, https://aberdeenbusinessnews.co.uk/global-ec-snaps-up-aberdeen-based-engineering-consultancy-firm-magma/ Paul continued to deliver Magma’s operations as managing director.

In a dual role, Paul with remain managing director of Magma whilst also stepping into this newly created role within Global E&C as it looks to further strengthen its position in the energy transition space.

Terry Allan, Global E&C’s executive director, said: “Paul is a respected voice in our industry and has brought an extraordinary wealth of experience in new energy ventures, needed to accelerate existing asset usage projects and new developments for clean energy production.  Paul will bring innovative early solutions to our customers in the oil and gas market as well as the wider energy mix.”

Levering on Global E&C’s existing customer base of major oil and gas operators, the firm is set to help cut flaring and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from older assets by optimising or replacing equipment.

Global E&C is also in the early stages of helping operators assess whether it would be commercially viable to power their platforms with electricity from green energy sources, such as wind farms, located onshore or offshore.

On his new role, Paul added: “These are exciting times for us as a business as we’re able to use existing skills and knowledge to make tremendous technical progress within the drive to a net zero future and I look forward to strengthening our operations in the clean energy sector.”
