Developing the Young Workforce North East has made two further appointments to its board, increasing the organisation’s reach across the digital and STEM sectors.
Margo Milne, commercial director at Clark IT; and Sarah Chew, managing director of TechFest, bring increased knowledge and experience to the board in two significant sectors for the North-east.

The duo are the latest industry representatives to join the board, following the appointment of Eleanor Sheppard, chief education officer at Aberdeen City Council; Gerry Lawrie, head of workforce and development at NHS Grampian; and Morag Stark, general manager at Malmaison, in March.
DYW North East bridges the gap between education and employers to help all young people find fulfilling careers. Chair Steve Petrie said: “DYW North East is entering an interesting phase of work as we deepen the links between education and employers across the Aberdeen city region. The broad range of sectors and skills around the table is vital in allowing us to enable businesses to further enhance their relationships with our schools, colleges and universities and other partners to build a shared focus, enthusiasm and determination to work with our young people.”
Margo joined Auchterless-based Clark Integrated Technologies in 2013. Clark IT specialises cybersecurity, cloud and IT support services and Margo is responsible for the firm’s commercial aspects in addition to HR, recruitment, marketing, PR and quality management. Her management career has spanned several sectors, including oil and gas, transport and professional services, and she principally qualified through a combination of self-taught and peer-to-peer training, alongside work based learning. She is committed to developing the students of today for the workplace of tomorrow and can be credited with setting up Clark IT’s apprenticeship scheme. In this respect, she has worked with Meldrum Academy for a number of years and is involved in its business partnership programme.
Sarah is passionate about developing young people and the wider community, particularly within the world of science, technology, engineering and maths. During her years at TechFest she has worked to support DYW’s aims to encourage young audiences to consider the benefits of a career in these sectors. With BSc in psychology and a MSc in marketing, Sarah has a wide range of knowledge across the business sector and how to engage with various audiences, promoting education in a fun and enjoyable way. Prior to TechFest and her time at the University of Aberdeen, she was seconded to the Scottish Government while working with North-east charity LiveWire Productions.
