DRILLING and oilfield equipment firm MRDS Group has announced the appointment of a new finance director.

Craig Yeoman joins the firm with nearly 30 years’ commercial, corporate finance, and banking experience having previously held positions with Clydesdale Bank, Johnston Carmichael, Power Jacks Ltd, and SPEX Group.

Commenting on his appointment Craig said: “I’m delighted to join the MRDS team and have been impressed by their drive and ambition.

“Despite the ongoing issues associated with COVID-19 and uncertainty across the global oil and gas industry, the company has reacted with confidence, implementing positive changes across the business in the last few months.”

During the last quarter, MRDS has undergone significant development following its acquisition by Aberdeen-based investors, the Garrick Group.

In addition to the launch of an Asset Integrity service and a strengthened Aberdeen team, the company has expanded its international footprint with a key appointment in the Middle East.

Ian McGillivray, MRDS managing director, added: “Craig is a critical addition to the MRDS senior management team. His breadth of financial and industrial experience will bring much to the company as we continue to implement our growth strategy.

“Having recently broadened our geographic reach and with ambitions to expand into new market sectors, there are robust plans in place for MRDS.

“We look forward to successfully implementing those during 2021 and beyond.”
