New general manager takes the helm at Norwood Hall Hotel

ONE OF the north-east’s leading hotels has appointed a respected industry figure to the position of general manager as the hospitality industry continues its recovery.

Aberdeen’s country house in the city, Norwood Hall Hotel, has welcomed Andrei Secuianu to the top job to drive continued growth across corporate and leisure bookings. He will have responsibility for day-to-day hotel operations, while further bolstering Norwood’s reputation as a high-end wedding, leisure and business destination.

Andrei brings experience of both large multinational hotel groups and boutique destinations having held senior operations and management roles with the likes of Marriot and the luxury Ardfin Estate, located on the Isle of Jura.

Most recently, he was general manager of Norwood’s sister hotel, Grange Manor, following similar spells at Macdonald Portal Golf & Spa Resort in Cheshire and Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel & Spa in Stirlingshire, where he started his journey with the company in 2019.

Andrei, originally from Romania, relocated to Scotland in 2016 following a role with global accountancy firm KPMG.

He said: “I’m extremely pleased to have taken on this important role at such an exciting time for Norwood Hall Hotel and look forward to the chance to strengthen relationships with our customer base, develop the brand and identify new opportunities for growth across the city and further afield.

Norwood Hall Hotel has been recognised with honours at several national award events in recent years for its commitment to wedding excellence and providing a first-class customer experience to brides and grooms.

Earlier this year, the hotel clinched the Wedding Venue of the Year (North) honour as well as the Local Wedding Exhibition of the Year award for its popular annual fayre at the Scottish Wedding Awards.

In 2022, the hotel’s dedicated team of wedding professionals secured the Wedding Venue of the Year title at the Top Tier Awards following the delivery of a record number of weddings.

Norwood’s acclaimed Tapestry Restaurant features traditional Scottish décor and is committed to providing the finest locally sourced produce and ingredients.
