Local hospitality firm, The McGinty’s Group, who bought the business last year, have sold a significant stake in the business to Mr Young, however the group still retains an interest in the venue.

Darren, who lives locally in Aberdeen, has more than 25 years’ experience working in the hospitality industry including managing multiple sites in Aberdeen and Dundee.

Director of The McGinty’s Group, Allan Henderson, said: “Since taking ownership last April, we have made some real improvements such as bringing back the local pub which received great feedback. However, as The Fourmile is a real community venue, we felt there was more potential to work closer with the people of Kingswells and we think Darren will be the perfect guy for this. He has great management experience and we feel he is going to bring the best out of the venue and the staff.”

Darren, continued: “The Fourmile is a well-established business and I am really looking forward to building on its success. I have worked in the industry for over 25 years and it has always been a personal goal to invest in a local business and The Fourmile seems like a great fit for me.

“I live locally so I will be very hands on, engaging with the community and building strong customer relationships. I feel that The Fourmile needs to be at the heart of the community and I will be looking to use my knowledge to make improvements and bring new ideas to the business. My aim is to provide our customers with a great venue, with excellent service and value for money.”
