Scotland-based companies that have made great strides in employee well-being and productivity are being urged to showcase this by entering the Scotland Business of the Year Awards.

This award recognises the private or public sector organisation that excels for its workforce—demonstrated through investment in skills and training, innovations around flexible working, wellness initiatives, or support for groups and individuals.

Peter Walker, editor of TheBusinessDesk Scotland, said, “While most of our categories are focused on growth and performance, it’s important not to forget the people that drive this.

“That’s why this award is so important, as without happy, motivated staff, you’re not going to get very far as a business.”

TheBusinessDesk.com has launched the Scotland Business of the Year Awards to recognise the country’s most successful and ambitious businesses. The awards are now open for entries, with a deadline of Friday, 16 January.

Entries are now open for 13 categories, including fast-growth businesses, international trade, investment and employers. There will also be two individual awards, for chief executive of the year and ambassador.

To enter, visit businessoftheyearawards.co.uk or email [email protected].

Entries are free and the awards will have a rigorous judging process.

Site visits will take place in February and March, with shortlisted companies invited to pitch to judges in May, before the winners are revealed at a black-tie awards evening in June.

The awards are being supported by Daily Business Group and TheBusinessGrid.

TheBusinessDesk.com already runs Business of the Year awards in five English regions, with recent winners including Lloyds Bank, Morrisons, and Rigby Group.

FAMILY BUSINESS

New Scottish awards seeks companies that have been built by generations
Family-owned businesses that have demonstrated outstanding performance over the last 12 months are being urged to showcase their success by entering the Scotland Business of the Year Awards.

The winner should be able to show how it is thriving because of its lineage, using the skills of different generations to build a long-term vision for sustainable success.

Peter Walker, editor of TheBusinessDesk Scotland, said, “Scotland has a rich history of firms that have kept it in the family, passing knowledge and skills down over the years to build resilient and intellectual property-powered enterprises.

“We’re size and sector agnostic, but the business must still have senior staff that bear the same name as the founders.”
