The opening is an expansion of its Subsea Excellence Centre in Ulverston, where Siemens design, build, and manufacture subsea connectors for the subsea energy market.

The new Aberdeen facility will enable the business to expand into the renewables market with the development of a new 66kV SpecTRON wet mate connector targeted at the floating offshore wind and offshore electrification market.
