Siemens Energy recently had the opening of its new Aberdeen Subsea Excellence Centre in Kirkton Drive.

Customers and colleagues from the Aberdeen and Ulverston facility joined together for the official opening by Gerry Gillespie, general manager and Mark Jones, head of subsea operations.

The opening is an expansion of its Subsea Excellence Centre in Ulverston, where Siemens design, build, and manufacture subsea connectors for the subsea energy market.

The new Aberdeen facility will enable the business to expand into the renewables market with the development of a new 66kV SpecTRON wet mate connector targeted at the floating offshore wind and offshore electrification market.
