SCOTTISH drivers have given a huge thumbs up to the new Vauxhall Corsa following a series of launch celebrations at Peter Vardy showrooms across the country.

Events in Perth, Kirkcaldy, Edinburgh, Motherwell and Aberdeen during January drew in crowds as partners in the showrooms laid on food, drinks and music for those looking to be among the first to test drive the brand new Corsa. Along with the latest fifth generation model, Corsas from “through the generations” were driven on site to the delight of visitors.

“We couldn’t have hoped for a better reception,” said Euan Cameron, marketing director at Vardy Central.

“With high levels of safety, comfort and driving dynamics, improved fuel efficiency and top-of-the-range infotainment systems, the new Vauxhall Corsa is a natural crowd pleaser. And as those who took it out on the road can testify, it continues to have all those ‘fun to drive’ qualities expected of the Vauxhall brand.”

A total of 24 test drives were completed during the week, while those back in the showroom were treated to entertainment such as the live DJ that featured at Motherwell.

For motorists looking to upgrade their current vehicle, the all-new Corsa features a range of high-efficiency diesel and petrol powertrains. Not only that, the latest Vauxhall Corsa boasts reduced fuel consumption and less CO2 emissions versus the outgoing model.

On top of that, the new fifth generation weighs in from just 980kg, up to 108kg less than the outgoing model. This lightweight design contributes to its increased efficiency, while also improving handling performance.

And for those looking to take their eco credentials to the ultimate level, and all-electric Corsa-e – the first-ever electric Corsa with a range of 209 miles* – is set to arrive at Peter Vardy showrooms later this year.

All models feature advanced driver assistance systems as standard, such as Lane Departure warning with Keep Lane Assist (for the first time in a Corsa), Speed Sign Recognition and Automatic Emergency City Braking.

“It’s really no wonder that the Vauxhall Corsa remains one of Scotland’s favourite vehicles, and was one of last year’s top 10 best-selling cars,” Euan added.

“Anyone who missed our launch event needn’t worry – to take a look for yourself, just call or come by your nearest Peter Vardy Vauxhall dealership.”
