New wellbeing, wellness, health and relaxation centre launches in Aberdeen

25/02/2018

A former City Council day centre building in the Aberdeen Bridge of Don suburbs, has been given a new lease of life.

The Urban Wellness Hub is the brainchild of Emma Ross who identified a need for ‘something different’ in Aberdeen. She said “it’s a place where people can come to relax, to develop, to learn, to have fun and improve their overall wellbeing, wellness and health. The Urban Wellness Hub hosts a wide and diverse range of development workshops, classes and events to deliver exactly that to the City & Shire.”

Following completion of a revamp and upgrade of the building, the Urban Wellness Hub has created individual treatment rooms for practitioners and therapists to hire.

Also a large Studio which hosts regular weekly classes for Hot Power Yoga, Yoga, Kinetic Chain Release (KCR), Hypno-Birthing and is suited to away days, team meetings, family get-togethers or other business events.

Since opening, courses and workshops have been held for Advanced Bowen Technique, Reiki, Crystal & Angel Healing, TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint aka Jaw to the layman),  EMMETT 4 ANIMALS, Access BARS, EMMETT 4 Humans and many others in this theme with visiting speakers and tutors coming from London and Edinburgh and as far afield as Spain, Canada and Australia.

During the day, the Urban Wellness Hub is home to practitioners and therapists providing a variety of treatments such as BOWEN, Reiki, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Sekhem and more being added to the timetable as the Hub grows.  The Hub has provided bespoke private yoga sessions for sports clubs and athletes in their IR heated studio, plus mother, daughter and “Girls’ Day Out” packages.

One of the main users of the therapy rooms is Aberdeen Bowen which includes mum Linda Ross and daughters, Emma, Morag and Fiona all of whom are Bowen Practitioners.

Emma said “The Urban Wellness Hub sits in a picturesque and tranquil setting very much in keeping with our own core principles and values of shaping positive lifestyles. With stunning views across the river Don and the city, set in its own grounds makes it the perfect setting for a health, wellbeing, wellness and relaxation centre.”
