The gala awards night, which will be attended by more than 300 guests, will be held at The Chester Hotel, Aberdeen, on Saturday, October 28th.
Thanks to the generosity of the principal sponsors, finalists and supporters will attend the event free of charge.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday, August 21st with the finalists announced on Wednesday, September 20th.
“In the years since the awards were first launched, we have seen fantastic submissions from across the region’s third sector,” said Celebrate Aberdeen volunteer Kate Yuill. “It is always humbling to see the contribution which organisations, their staff and the many volunteers who support them make towards the lives of thousands of people across the community.
“Previous finalists and winners have come from a wide variety of organisations, some of which are well known but many others which are smaller and less well known but whose contribution is just as valuable and crucial. We would love to see nominations from organisations who have submitted applications in the past but also from ones who may not have taken part previously.
“It has always been important to us that we celebrate our finalists without them having to pay to attend this event. To do this, we are completely reliant on our sponsors and it is thanks to their financial support that we can make this happen.”
Mark Berry, Business Services Manager from principal sponsor CNOOC International said: “Celebrate Aberdeen’s events shine a spotlight on the inspirational charities, community groups, and volunteers from across the North-east of Scotland who are dedicated to helping others. That is why CNOOC International is delighted to partner with Celebrate Aberdeen again and help recognise the invaluable contribution that Aberdeen’s third sector makes to the local community.”
Other sponsors include CNR International, Aberdeen Inspired, CALA Homes, Hampton, Breakwater Agency and The Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen.
This is the second event in the Celebrate Aberdeen calendar.
The Celebrate Aberdeen parade will take place on Saturday, August 26, when thousands of people representing around 150 organisations will march the length of Union Street watched by thousands of spectators.
First held in 2011, the parade brings together an eclectic and inclusive group of third sector organisations, cultural organisations, youth groups, sports clubs, and music, dance, and entertainment groups.
