AN Aberdeen headquartered accountancy firm has acquired an independent Inverurie business.
Acumen Accountants and Advisors has bought out Keltic Accounting in an undisclosed deal.
It is the second acquisition by Acumen this year after acquiring Aberdeenshire-based Carnegie Knox in January as the business looks towards a £5million turnover target by 2023.
Keltic Accounting, which was launched by Sheena Martin in 2009, brings more than 400 clients to Acumen, increasing the client base to 1900 and the turnover to in excess of £3million.
Ten staff, including Mrs Martin, will join the Acumen team which will see the headcount increase to 63 across the three bases in Aberdeen, Peterhead and Inverurie.
Ross Murray, Acumen director, said: “The opportunity to acquire Keltic Accounting came along at the right time for us as we are focussed on growing the business to achieve our targets.”
Mrs Martin added: “The business has grown massively in the past two years, so I had to look at options for the next stage as I had a responsibility to my staff and clients
“Joining forces with Acumen gives our clients more expertise in-house at a time when we need to have the right resources to help the clients to be fit for the future.”
