A north-east entrepreneur has expanded her clothing business empire with the acquisition of a local brand, Urban Caledonia.
Ola Adeyemi, owner of Ripples Custom Designs & Prints in Aberdeen, has added the original collection of children’s clothing to build upon the company’s existing design, print and embroidery capability. The business was founded in 2017 in Aberdeen, which Ola then relaunched the brand as her own in September 2018.

The brand is currently only available online, with plans to expand into independent stores in the future.
Its range of clothing, from mid-priced to premium options, includes hoodies, t-shirts, pyjamas, bodysuits and joggers, with more to come imminently.
Ola said, “I have three kids and a lot of the time when out shopping in and around Aberdeen, it can be difficult to find clothing suitable for everyday wear and which incorporates Scottish memorabilia. I’d like people to embrace the culture and grow up wearing the brand, which is exactly why Urban Caledonia is perfect for my family and for yours.
“When the opportunity arose to take over Urban Caledonia, it was a no brainer for me as I loved the uniqueness of it. I felt it was something a bit different compared to some other children’s brands, and Scottish clothing already on the market.
“My plan for the near future is to continue to add to the lines already available, as well as adding an adult range and more eco-friendly and organic pieces. Urban Caledonia will run alongside my other company, Ripples Custom Designs & Prints, and I can’t wait to see what this new and exciting opportunity brings for customers of both Urban Caledonia and Ripples.
“I aim to offer the same personal service as Ripples, with quality products, custom designs and clan tartans, that we hope to incorporate with Urban Caledonia in the near future.”
