A North East MP has welcomed a £33 million investment in North Sea gas transmission.
The St Fergus Gas Terminal meets around a quarter of Britain’s domestic demand, to users including power stations and industry.
The National Gas investment at the Aberdeen Compressor Station, one of 21 across Great Britain, will involve upgrading the operating systems that monitor, manage and control the movement of gas throughout Britain.
Local businesses Dron & Dickson, ESK Control, John Duncan Plant Hire, and Northern Platforms & Staging will benefit directly from the investment.

“This station is a vital part of our country’s national infrastructure which contributes to keeping lights on, homes warm, and industry running, and this investment is a powerful vote of confidence in the future of our region’s energy sector.
“I’m particularly proud that funding is going directly to local businesses, supporting jobs, skills, and innovation right here in the North East of Scotland.
“It’s a clear demonstration of how we can deliver both energy security and economic opportunity for our communities.”
