Russell Borthwick, chief executive of the Chamber, said: “Winning a Northern Star Business Award gives companies, and their employees, a significant boost. For that reason they attract a high standard and volume of entries which gives the judges a challenging time every year and, because of their calibre, they also attract high quality sponsors.

“We ensure that the presentation dinner matches that quality with the best of food and high class entertainment and it has become a ‘must-attend’ event for many.”

This year’s categories range from “Achievement in International Business” to “Customer Service” and from “Contribution to Society” to the newly created “Excellence and Innovation in Procurement.”

Someone will also join the prestigious list of winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award which is announced on the night.

Nine of the sponsors from 2016 are back on board along with new partner, the Oil & Gas Technology Centre which is supporting this year’s “Commitment to Innovative Use of Research & Development” award.
