Notices of Election for the 2026 Scottish Parliament election for the three constituencies for Aberdeen City – Aberdeen Central, Aberdeen Deeside and North Kincardine, and Aberdeen Donside – have been published at Notice of Election Scottish Parliament 2026

Voters also elect seven regional MSPs using the additional member system of proportional representation. The system uses regional lists which include candidates selected by political parties and independent candidates. Aberdeen is in the North East Scotland region.

Today (Monday 16 March 2026) also marks the start of the pre-election period.

The 2026 Scottish Parliament election is due to be held on Thursday 7 May 2026, and will elect 129 members to the Scottish Parliament.
