The report is entitled ‘Managing UK Energy Security in troubled times’, in which the authors set out the multiple challenges faced by the UK’s new government and by the millions of households and businesses hit by surging prices and shortages.

An OEUK spokesman commented: “The UK faces one of its toughest winters for year, with global energy price shocks, runaway inflation and an unstable government. This means UK consumers face surging bills and uncertain energy supplies for months to come.”
“The UK’s offshore sector wants to address those problems – extracting secure energy from the UK’s own waters, to produce gas and oil, plus electricity from offshore wind. But it too faces constraints. New taxes, tougher regulation and lack of investment are holding it back. These factors risk reducing UK energy production, undermining the nation’s energy security, and slowing efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions.”
“This year’s will be a landmark analysis of this troubled energy landscape.”
