Clean energy funding will now be tied to a new Fair Work Charter requiring offshore wind firms to meet higher workplace standards. Offshore Energies UK responds.

The offshore energy workforce already operates to high standards through collective bargaining agreements such as the Energy Services Agreement, developed jointly by industry and trade unions. Any Fair Work Charter should build on that foundation while supporting investment, skills and long‑term careers across the UK’s integrated energy workforce. Offshore Energies UK supports fair, safe, high‑quality jobs and constructive workforce engagement across the offshore sector. As government links clean‑energy funding to a new Fair Work Charter, it’s vital the framework is developed with industry, workforce representatives and unions so it is practical, proportionate, and investment‑friendly enabling us to protect and grow skilled, homegrown jobs, strengthen energy security and accelerate a balanced transition.”
