GLOBAL offshore services provider Swire Oilfield Services has unveiled a new brand as the business looks towards embracing the current energy transition.

The company has changed its name to Swire Energy Services after more than 40 years’ operating in the oil and gas industry.

The move follows a period of diversification for Swire, which has seen it evolve from a supplier of specialised offshore containers to the oil and gas market, to an integrated provider offering aviation, integrity and chemical services.

The company also now operates in industries other than oil and gas, including marine and offshore wind, and has set its sights on growing its market share in both.

Manfred Vonlanthen, Swire Energy Services chief executive officer, said: “We have continually evolved our business through both organic growth and acquisition. As a result, we have expanded our service offering on a global basis to ensure we continue to meet the demands of our customers.

“This next step is undoubtedly an exciting moment in the history of our company as we become a fully integrated service provider, playing a significant role in the energy transition.”

Mr Vonlanthen continued: “There is no doubt that oil and gas will remain a significant part of the energy mix for the foreseeable future and our customers can count on the same quality of products and services from Swire Energy Services as they have been used to in the past.

“However, we are expanding our offering to also target other sectors where we strongly believe the experience we have gained operating in the offshore oil and gas space, combined with a strong HSEQ culture and global presence, can result in cost efficient solutions that don’t compromise on quality.

“Also, with the long-term support and commitment from our owners, John Swire & Sons, we are ready to develop Swire Energy Services into a highly recognised brand and trustworthy partner for the broader offshore energy production market where we see significant growth prospects.”

Operating from 57 bases across 28 countries, Swire Energy Services employs more than 500 personnel from all the major oil and gas regions in Europe, Africa, Middle East, North & South America and Asia-Pacific.
