OFFSHORE training provider Survivex is broadening its offering with the introduction of new courses at its Well Control Training Centre of Excellence in the city.

It has received approval from the International Well Control Forum (IWCF) to run well intervention courses which will provide a practical and theoretical understanding of live well pressure control covering subjects such as wireline, coiled tubing, snubbing procedures and completion operations.

Survivex, which is part of the 3t Energy Group, launched its Well Control Training Centre of Excellence last year. The facility features simulator technology, digital systems and software.

Jamie Purves, Survivex general manager, said: “Well intervention goes hand-in-hand with drilling well control so it’s great to be now able to provide the full complement of industry-approved training for our clients.”
