The award was announced and presented at the prestigious 58th National Dinner held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
The award, a top accolade recognising the most significant contribution to subsea pipeline technology and to promote the development of new ideas in the field of subsea technology is for OEL’s flagship technology, MEG ARTS® (Mono-Ethylene Glycol Analyser with Real Time Display and Subsea Sampling), a development system which provides highly reliable information on the composition of MEG and other chemicals received subsea during pipeline conditioning operations.
OEL demonstrated to the judges an industry game changing product in MEG ARTS® which autonomously provides highly reliable information on MEG or other chemicals at the subsea pig receiver. The system offers real time display, logging
of density, temperature and pressure data and automated sample capturing capability.
The function of the technology is to measure subsea the density of MEG real time at the pipeline termination therefore ensuring the integrity of conditioning. MEG ARTS® can change standard practices for assessing the integrity of MEG giving the owners of subsea pipelines certain confirmation that their pipeline is fit for purpose and can achieve this without the expense of having a second support vessel on location, the game changing aspect behind the product is that never before has the industry been able to access such data and capabilities.
