LDC-backed lift maintenance specialist Pace Group has strengthened its presence across Yorkshire and Scotland with the acquisition of Bradford Lifts Limited and Atlas Lifts & Services.
Headquartered in the West Midlands, Pace Group specialises in the maintenance and repair of elevators, service lifts and stairlifts, helping improve safety, performance and lifespan across a wide range of systems. The latest deals bring Shipley-based Bradford Lifts and Aberdeen-based Atlas Lifts into the Group, further extending its regional footprint.
Both acquired businesses focus on elevator maintenance, with a combined 25 employees joining Pace Group. The additions take the Group’s total headcount to 207, while also enhancing its technical expertise and service capability across both regions.
The acquisitions add approximately 1,000 maintained units to Pace Group’s portfolio, including around 700 from Bradford Lifts and more than 300 from Atlas Lifts. This brings the Group’s core maintained base to around 10,000 units, alongside a growing portfolio of stairlifts, platform lifts and access equipment.
Since receiving backing from private equity firm LDC in July 2024, Pace Group’s management team, led by directors Scott Haywood and Lukas Schlenker, has delivered rapid growth. The business has completed 17 complementary acquisitions and increased revenue by 65%, rising from £19.3 million to £32 million in the year ending September 2025.
Scott Haywood, Director of Pace Group, said: “Bradford Lifts and Atlas Lifts each bring highly skilled teams that share our commitment to exceptional customer service and technical excellence. They add meaningful scale in the North and bolster our growing foothold in Scotland. With LDC’s continued support, we’re building momentum and remain focused on building a premier national elevator maintenance business capable of meeting the evolving needs of customers.”

Matt Newbold, Investment Director at LDC in the West Midlands, added: “What Scott and Lukas have achieved in under two years is hugely impressive – seventeen acquisitions, each one building on the Group’s capabilities and market position. There’s significant consolidation still to happen across UK lift maintenance, and the market fundamentals are strong. Ageing infrastructure, stricter regulations and rising insurance and safety obligations mean demand for specialist maintenance expertise is only increasing. We’re excited to keep backing them as they build a platform of scale across the UK.”
On the Bradford Lifts acquisition, Pace Group was advised by Higgs, with Awb Charlesworth Solicitors advising the sellers. On the Atlas Lifts transaction, Pace Group was advised by Higgs LLP and Altius Group, while Gunner Cook acted for the sellers.
