PD&MS has finalised the acquisition of Optimus, an Aberdeen-based Engineering Consultancy that specialises in front-end engineering and design for the oil and gas and renewable energy industries.
The company will henceforth operate as Optimus Plus, a subsidiary of PD&MS Group, which employs roughly 650 people across Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Azerbaijan.
“Optimus has a fantastic workforce and is a truly remarkable engineering consultancy with over 20 years experience of providing innovative front-end engineering solutions across the oil and gas and renewables sector,” commented Simon Rio, PD&MS Group CEO.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Chris and his wider team and support their growth with a framework to allow them to capitalise on the significant opportunities ahead. It’s our plan to double their number of employees in the next 12 months.”
Optimus has over two decades of experience in offering creative solutions across a wide range of end markets, and this acquisition will provide PD&MS Group with more strength and depth as it expands in the energy and industrial sectors.
PD&MS has set out its strategy to assist the industry in maximising economic recovery, decarbonizing oil and gas infrastructure, and expanding on its services throughout the global energy and industrial sectors.
The future of Optimus Plus is looking bright under PD&MS, having already increased the size of Synergie Environ’s business since acquiring it in 2021.
