Driven by their personal journey as parents of children with complex medical needs, Innocent and Josephine Iba have launched Blossom Home Care in Aberdeen, offering a unique, compassionate, and tailored home care service designed to support adults in living independently at home.
“We have always been passionate about caring for others, but our journey took on even more meaning when two of our three children needed additional medical care,” said Innocent. “We know how important it is to have carers who truly listen, understand, and provide the kind of support that respects each person’s wishes and lifestyle. Having been receivers of care ourselves, we know what good care looks like.”

With over 10 years of combined experience in the health and social care sector, and hands-on experience working in care homes, Innocent and Josephine have seen first-hand the impact that quality care can make. Josephine holds a Business degree in Human Resources, while Innocent has a PhD in Environmental Science and Biochemistry, both of which bring an additional layer of expertise to their work in the care sector. Their personal and professional experiences inspired them to launch the Aberdeen franchise of Blossom Home Care, a service that values the individuality of each client.
Blossom Home Care is an award-winning nationwide franchise offering home care services with a difference. Each care plan is tailored to the needs and preferences of the service user, allowing them to remain in control of their own lives. Importantly, care visits last a minimum of 50 minutes, ensuring that clients receive the time, attention, and companionship they deserve.
Josephine added: “Care has always been a part of who I am, but when we experienced the challenges of finding the right support for our own children, we knew we could make a difference. Blossom Home Care gives us the chance to help others in the way we would want to be helped – with compassion, respect, and genuine care.”
The couple has already recruited a team of 10 dedicated carers to support people across the area and is actively looking to expand, ensuring they can respond quickly to the needs of their clients. Its team delivers a wide range of services, including live-in care, dementia care, rehabilitation support, companionship, and assistance with daily tasks – all designed to support people in living life to the fullest.
Innovative Care and Family Connection
Blossom Home Care also offers an innovative way for families to stay connected with their loved ones’ care through a user-friendly app. With the app, relatives can easily see who has visited, review real-time notes taken by carers, and stay up to date on their loved ones’ care needs.
Designed to provide transparency and peace of mind, the app ensures families are always informed and involved in the care process. Explains Josephine: “It’s exactly how we would want it for our own children. The app empowers relatives to feel confident that their loved ones are receiving the attention and care they need, no matter where they are. We want to be known for doing things differently and by combining non-rushed, personalised care with innovation, such as the app, it makes us stand out.”
Blossom Home Care Aberdeen serves the Aberdeen area, including Banchory, Westhill, Portlethen, Stonehaven, Montrose, Arbroath, Forfar, and parts of Dundee. With their personal experience at the heart of everything they do, Innocent and Josephine are committed to building a service that is not just different but exceptional.
