VisitAberdeenshire is enhancing the welcome for cruise visitors this season with a new sponsor to support its volunteer programme.

Peterson Energy Logistics – the international energy logistics and supply chain solutions company – will sponsor the programme for theupcoming season.

The ‘Welcome to Aberdeenshire’ volunteers greet arriving cruise passengers at Port of Aberdeen’s North and South Harbours, with more than 60 cruise calls earmarked from April to September.

Chris Foy, Chief Executive, VisitAberdeenshire, said: “The volunteers provide a friendly North-east welcome to passengers arriving to the region from around the world, ensuring their visit gets off to the best possible start.

“Peterson’s sponsorship will allow us to further develop and grow the cruise volunteer programme, recruit additional volunteers and invest in upskilling the team.

“We thank Peterson Energy Logistics for its generous sponsorship and look forward to a successful cruise season ahead.”

Sarah Moore, Chief Executive of Peterson Energy Logistics, said: “We are delighted to be the inaugural sponsor of VisitAberdeenshire’s cruise volunteers’ programme. We are a proud maritime base with our UK headquarters in Aberdeen so to be aligned with this initiative which provides such a warm and informative welcome to visitors to our region is fantastic.

“We wish the volunteers every success for the season ahead and look forward to seeing the cruise tourists enjoying our city in the spring and summer months.”
