Petrasco, a leading provider of international logistics solutions to the energy industry, has promoted Darran Mackie to the role of general manager – operations as the company continues to strengthen its leadership team amid growing global demand.

Established in 1974, Petrasco delivers a comprehensive range of services including air, sea and road freight, customs compliance, warehousing and distribution. The business supports clients worldwide through its key operational hubs in Aberdeen, Dubai and Houston.

Based at the company’s headquarters in Dyce, Mackie joined Petrasco in 2019 and has progressed through a variety of roles, from driver to senior management. With 18 years of industry experience, he brings extensive expertise across supply chain operations, transport, logistics, warehouse management and procurement.

Formerly logistics and business support manager, Mackie has developed a strong reputation for handling complex logistics requirements, including critical and out-of-gauge transport movements, as well as specialist procurement services.

In his new role, he will work closely with regional director Ross Cochrane and operations manager Garrie Maitland, taking responsibility for leading Petrasco’s operational, logistics, transport, procurement and business support functions. His focus will be on maintaining high service standards, driving operational excellence and supporting sustainable business growth.

Kevin Buchan, managing director at Petrasco, said: “The breadth and depth of experience Darran possesses will undoubtedly bolster the management team and help equip the business for the next chapter of growth. We’re extremely pleased with the impact he has made to our business, especially over the past few years, so this promotion is well deserved.

“Darran’s new role reflects increased demand from our energy sector clients across all aspects of Petrasco’s service offering. Indeed, it’s an exciting time for the entire company and we would like to pay tribute to all our staff, clients and partners for their support over recent months as we have navigated high levels of global uncertainty.”

Mackie added: “I’m very proud to have taken on this important role at such an exciting time for Petrasco and look forward to the chance to strengthen relationships with our clients and wider supply chain partners, while developing new ways of working and identifying opportunities for growth across key business functions.

“We are fortunate to have an extremely talented group of people and I’m looking forward to the challenge the new role presents, while supporting management colleagues here in Aberdeen and further afield to make sure that we achieve our operational performance targets, business development objectives, financial goals and compliance requirements across the business.”
