PLANS for a £56,000 investment into an empty unit in the Bon Accord Centre have been submitted by Edinburgh Woollen Mill.

The space next to Marks and Spencer and Bonmarche has lay vacant for around four years and, should plans be given the go-ahead, would see the St Nicholas side of the centre at capacity for the time being.

The retailer currently operates from 187 Union Street, though is being advertised to let.

The Bon Accord Centre has underwent somewhat of a resurgence of late after a number of closures took place during and immediately after the Covid pandemic.

Danish retailer Søstrene Grene is expected to open its first North-east store in the centre later this year, while Casc is also planning a café.
