The PPU has been designed on the back of market research carried out by the Colpy based fabricator.

Quayside Fabrication’s experience and observations of processes at ports have led to the development of the PPU, which will be parked at quayside facilities throughout the UK and will provide quick access to tools and equipment for welders.

The PPU aims to improve health & safety, efficiency and accessibility in mobilisation and demobilisation services.

It is an innovative product that is designed to DNV 2.7-1 standards and is fully compliant with Lloyds 17th edition.

Co-Director, David Duncan says: “We are really excited to be showcasing our first PPU next week. We have been developing the product and refining it for the last 2 years and we are now ready for its launch. The PPU is a practical solution to ongoing constraints on logistics at ports. It allow welders significantly quicker access to tools and equipment and the resulting cost savings for oil and service companies will be huge. We’re really looking forward to showcasing it at our Open Day next week and have already had a lot of interest.”

The PPU will be launched at Quayside Fabrication’s Open Day, which is taking place next Thursday (26th March 2015) from 10am – 4pm.

Quayside Fabrication will also be offering site tours on the day and showcasing a new range of Subsea Baskets, which it has launched as part of its fleet of equipment for hire. For more information please contact Pamela Blackadder on 01464 841304 or visit quasidefab.com.
