Bancon Group has won two national awards at the Scottish Home Awards and cHeRries Awards, in recognition of excellence across its affordable housing and people development across the business.
At the Scottish Home Awards, held on 18 June at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Glasgow Central, Bancon Construction won the Social Housing Development of the Year (over 100 units) category for the Cloverhill development in Aberdeen, a 536-home affordable housing scheme.
At the cHeRries Awards, held on the same evening at P&J Live in Aberdeen, Bancon Group won the Culture Transformation Project of the Year category, recognising an 18-month programme to strengthen workforce engagement across its construction, timber frame and housebuilding operations.

Over the past 18 months, Bancon Group has delivered a wide-ranging programme to improve employee engagement, collaboration and long-term workforce development, reinforcing its core values of One Team, We Care, We Trust, Sustainability and Development.
As part of the transformation, Bancon has set up new wellbeing and engagement initiatives, a leadership development programme spanning site and office teams, and communication channels to ensure projects and departments are better connected. Working groups, mental health first aiders, mentors, managers and colleagues with decades of experience have all contributed, producing a culture that is inclusive, supportive and built to perform.

Bancon Construction was also shortlisted in the Housing Development of the Year (Large Private Sale) category at the Scottish Home Awards for its Queens Gate development on the north-eastern edge of Strathaven. Queens Gate forms part of the East Overton masterplan and has been designed and delivered to create a major new community for Strathaven, offering three, four and five-bedroom homes, with Phase 3 due to launch later this year.
