Two public events are to be held in Peterhead as part of the planning process for the proposed development of Peterhead Community Campus.

The first event will take place in the chamber of Buchan House on St Peter Street from 3pm to 8pm on Tuesday, July 1. The second session will take place in the Peterhead Academy assembly hall from 3pm to 8pm on Tuesday, July 15

The drop-in events will provide an initial opportunity for stakeholders and wider members of the public to view the draft proposals, speak with members of the project team and provide comments that will help shape the final planning application.

There will be further sessions as the project continues to move forward through the design stages and the planning process and information will also be made available at https://engage.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/peterhead-community-campus

The sessions were agreed at a full meeting of Aberdeenshire Council on Thursday (June 26), when councillors heard an update on the design, programme and scope of the proposals for the main site for the proposed campus at Kinmundy Road, Peterhead.

Councillors noted the appointment of Hub North Scotland Ltd as the council’s delivery partner for the project, and approved Robertson Construction Eastern as the Tier 1 contractor to take the campus project through to financial close. The new building is scheduled to be operational in August 2028.

The council agreed in February that the current Dales Park, Meethill, and Anna Ritchie schools will be retained and will not form part of the campus project.

A report on the provision of community facilities on the current academy site on Prince Street will be considered at a future meeting of the council.
